Abstract

Energy transition means human endeavour to replace more environmentally friendly energy sources with renewable energy is one of the most important energy policy issues in the world. One of the important points in the field of energy transition is the impact of changes in macroeconomic variables on the process and mechanism of energy transition in a country. This chapter tries to make an academic discussion about the energy transition patterns in Asian economies. The results of the study of long-term energy transition plans in Asian countries as well as empirical evidence show the long-term goal of Asian countries to reduce fossil energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. However, these programs have not had the necessary and desirable effectiveness, the most important reasons being the lack of capital for investment, weak governance of the green economy, and lack of clear legal structure in the field of energy transition. As an important applied policy based on the results of this chapter of the book, it can be pointed out that the level of income is an important variable in energy policy in different Asian countries. This issue is doubly important in the policy of generating electricity from environmentally friendly energies in developing and emerging Asian countries, because it can help these countries to achieve the goal of sustainable development faster and more confidently. Also considering the Corona situation, the development of digital green financing is proposed as a means of attracting foreign investment and increasing private sector participation in green energy projects in Asian countries
