Abstract

Businesses across the globe are strategically integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with their business strategy to address the social and environmental concerns of the stakeholders. The aim of this study is two-fold. Firstly, to study the CSR practices of the Indian agri-input companies. Secondly, to identify specific CSR practices of agri-input firms in India with a focus on their initiatives supporting small landholders. Through this research, trends in CSR practices of the four agri-input companies selected for the study were undertaken for the years 2016–2020. Furthermore, the CSR initiatives were mapped with the SDGs to understand the impact of such projects. The study showcases how agribusiness firms are strategizing their CSR initiatives. The analysis also facilitates the agri-input companies in India to understand the gaps in their CSR practices and will enable them to develop relevant strategies.
