Abstract

Zusammenfassung In dieser Studie werden die Auswirkungen der staatlichen Renten auf die Beschäftigung in China und Japan untersucht. Es werden einige wichtige Schlussfolgerungen gezogen. Erstens: In China verringert die staatliche Rente die Wahrscheinlichkeit der Erwerbsbeteiligung älterer Erwachsener. Verglichen mit der kurzfristigen Auswirkung der Politik wird der negative Effekt auf lange Sicht geringer. Zweitens: In Japan war die Beschäftigungswahrscheinlichkeit von 1980 bis 2004 umso geringer, je höher die Rentenleistung war. Der negative Effekt hat jedoch in den letzten Jahrzehnten abgenommen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass in China und Japan staatliche Renten die Erwerbsbeteiligung der Teilnehmer verringern können. Sowohl für die chinesische als auch für die japanische Regierung ist es wichtig, eine staatliche Rente einzuführen und dabei die negativen Auswirkungen auf die Beschäftigung älterer Erwachsener zu berücksichtigen. Die Erfahrungen der japanischen Rentenreform der letzten Jahrzehnte können der chinesischen Regierung neue Anhaltspunkte für die künftige Reform der gesetzlichen Renten liefern.
