Abstract

In addition to the Islamic understanding of faith and ethics, leadership in Islam is derived from the function of the human heart and soul. In Islam, leaders with the ability to educate and control their desires (nafs) will be able to answer the challenges of leadership. Understandably, leadership comes with lures and powers; thus, a person with high awareness of the concepts of the rights and wrongs, ethical and unethical, and the dos and the don’ts will be perceived as a reliable leader.
