Abstract

The challenge from climate change will be one of the biggest challenges the mankind is facing in this century. No country or region can stand alone. China is also one of the most vulnerable countries in terms of climate change. It has become a global trend to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, innovate development pathway, enhance low carbon competitiveness, and follow the path of low carbon and sustainable development. It requires collective actions at the global level to mitigate and adapt to climate change and transform energy structure. It also requires a major greenhouse gas emitter like China to actively undertake emission reduction obligations and fulfill emission reduction commitments.
