Abstract

The topological structure characteristics of the GVC network not only reflect the status and functions of economies and industrial sectors, but also can further explore the evolutionary mechanism of global economic integration through time series analysis. Although we try to link some network-based indicators with those measuring the level of economic development in the previous chapter and get meaningful results, they are not comprehensive and systematic. In this chapter, we draw on the analytical framework of Social Capital Theory, defining the structural attributes as industrial status, the relationship attributes as industrial relevant, and the cognitive attributes as industrial structure, and establish the causal inference model on the relations between them and GDP based on the Structural Equation Model [1].
