Abstract

Strategic alliance is beneficial to businesses. From historical contexts, evidence abound of how strategic alliance turned the tide of great battles, so also, this is applicable in running businesses. Having the right alliance can make a huge difference between profit and losses, or the liquidity of a business entity. This chapter discusses advantages and disadvantages of alliances, and how alliances can be leveraged to build trust and gaining new insights in business. Types of alliances are also addressed, things to consider if an alliance is to be successful, and ensuring the right agreement that is favorable to both the organization and its strategic allies.
