Abstract

Nurses today are working in high-stress situations due to COVID-19. They are struggling to provide the best care and avoid the risk of infection. However, they are also working on managing their mental health. It is no secret that even before the pandemic, the nurse turnover rate was high. Unfortunately, the pandemic situation has become an additional factor influencing nurse turnover. A new setup of rewards and benefits is required to decrease nurse turnover rates and maintain a high level of competence and commitment. The human resource department is usually in charge of the rewards and benefits programs in a hospital. Many human resource managers realize that reward and benefit packages require changes, yet this needs further discussion. This chapter discusses the concept, concerns, and trends in rewards and benefits in the hospital setting in the new normal era.
