Abstract

To enhance the partnership between nursing and human resource, nurses should understand the concept of human resource management (HRM) and its application. The authors emphasize the use of competence in HRM implementation to treat employees equally, matching jobs with their competence. In this chapter, the authors provide an overview of competence, human resource management (HRM), and competence-based human resource management (CBHRM). This chapter also provides the reader with CBHRM system schemes, models, systems (structure, process, and outcome), and components of CBHRM practices.
