Abstract

There are many burgeoning literatures dominate the debates on relationship between financial developments and economic growth in China. It has always been a contagious one. The Chinese state is making coordinated effort for the development of the financial sector for economic growth to address issues of local development. Since the reforms of 1978, the Chinese economy has witnessed rapid growth. This chapter explores the relationship between financial development and economic growth in China. It argues that there is a bidirectional causality between financial development and economic growth in China.
