Abstract

The empirical analysis in this chapter is built on provincial input-output tables and statistics about interprovincial trade and provincial carbon emissions by sector. Specifically, the input-output tables and interprovincial trade data for 2002 come from Li (2010), and those for 2007 and 2010 are presented on the basis of the interregional input-output tables of 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) compiled by Liu et al. (2012, 2014). To make these tables comparable, the double deflation method (United Nations 1999) is used to adjust the 2002 and 2010 tables for the 2007 price level. A province’s price index by sector is based on the province’s statistical yearbook (Table 3.1).
