Abstract

During the recent years, there has been a growing interest in big data theory/application in many industries with construction sector no exception. The data of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry are substantial and complicated and with great potential to be further utilized. These features are in line with the big data concept and its implementation in construction management filed is therefor of particular importance. It is expected to support construction-related decision-making and strengthen supervision of the overall industry. This paper analyzes the research papers on big data and construction management in the Web of Science (WOS) database by using Histcite software. We worked on research time networks, collaborative country networks, popular research directions, etc. We also selected several representative articles with more citations for in-depth research. The findings are expected to benefit both the academia and practitioners by revealing the connections of the big data concept and construction project field.
