Abstract

Zusammenfassung Eine vergleichende Betrachtung der Geschichte der Ersten Republik mit der Geschichte der Zweiten Republik zeigt so gegensätzliche Tendenzen, daß sich die Frage aufdrängt, welche Faktoren es wohl gewesen sein mögen, die maßgebend dafür waren, daß sich das ökonomische und politische Debakel von 1918 bis 1938 nicht wiederholte. Wie konnte es ganz im Gegenteil gelingen, ein an sich bescheidenes Potential so zu entwickeln, daß dessen statistische Erfolgsdaten sich nicht nur im historischen Vergleich, sondern auch im internationalen Vergleich sehen lassen können?
