Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zunächst werden einige Resultate der allgemeinen Wissenschaftstheorie dargestellt, die für die Wirtschaftsinformatik relevant sind. Sie betreffen vor allem die Prüfung, Widerlegung und Bestätigung von Hypothesen und Theorien. Anschließend wird die Frage behandelt, welche empirischen Problemstellungen und entsprechenden Vorgehensweisen in der Wirtschaftsinformatik vorkommen. Als wichtig erweist sich dabei, welche Rolle Gesetze in der Wirtschaftsinformatik spielen. Es wird dafür argumentiert, daß in diesem Bereich allenfalls sogenannte unvollständige Gesetze möglich sind. Auf dieser Grundlage werden vier empirische Vorgehensweisen diskutiert, die einander ergänzen können.
