Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Röchlings galten jahrzehntelang als die „Stahlbarone von der Saar“, bis sich ihr gleichnamiges Unternehmen, das im vergangenen Jahr 200 Jahre alt geworden ist, Mitte der 1970er Jahre vom Stahl verabschiedete. Es folgte eine Phase als Mischkonzern – mit hohen Umsätzen, aber ohne geschäftlichen Fokus. Ein Strategiewechsel zum Millenniumswechsel hin zum Spezialisten für Produkte aus Hochleistungskunststoffen rettete die Röchling-Gruppe vor dem Zerfall. Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth ist als Vorsitzender des Beirats und des Gesellschafterausschusses das gewählte Oberhaupt der Familie. Im Gespräch erläutert er die Governance des Unternehmens. Das Interview führten Dr. Jörg K. Ritter und Dr. Carsten Wundrack.
