Abstract

Zusammenfassung Reisen kann bilden. Reisen kann entspannen. Reisen ist die kleine Flucht aus dem Alltag. Diese drei Aussagen bilden jedoch nur die eine Seite der Medaille ab. Nimmt man nicht nur die Reisenden und ihre Bedürfnisse in den Blick, sondern auch die Reiseziele und die dort lebenden Menschen sowie die Wertschöpfungskette eines Urlaubs, dann zeigt sich: Reisen kann auch Wirtschaftsmotor, Bildungskatalysator und Nachhaltigkeitspionier sein. Wie kann ein global führender Touristikkonzern, der vor der Coronakrise jährlich bis zu 27 Mio. Menschen in den Urlaub gebracht hat, solche positiven Effekte einer Reise verstärken? Warum sollte er dies tun? Und wie kann Technologie hierbei unterstützen? Ein Beitrag aus der Praxis.
