Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Wirtschaftsaufschwung ist seit über 70 Jahren ungebrochen und wurde genährt von Vorfahren, die wünschten, dass es ihren Kindern und Nachkommen einmal besser gehe. Besser hieß damals vor allem materieller Fortschritt. Dieser Wunsch ging auf eindrückliche Art und Weise in Erfüllung. In Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz gehen mehr Vermögen auf die nächste Generation über als jemals zuvor. Trotzdem glaubt der Autor dieser Zeilen, dass die meisten entwickelten Länder an einem Wendepunkt stehen. Die globale Covid-19 Krise, die im ersten Quartal 2020 die ganze Welt in Beschlag genommen hat, ist dabei nur eine von vielen Herausforderungen, denen sich die Millennials und Digital Natives langfristig stellen müssen. Um diese zu meistern, brauchen wir das Interagieren und das Aufeinanderzugehen aller Generationen.
