Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mit der Corona-Pandemie sind Deutschland und China sehr unterschiedlich umgegangen. Zögerndem Handeln in Deutschland steht konsequentes Agieren in China gegenüber. Während in Deutschland scheinbar das Recht auf individuelle Freiheit das Handeln bestimmt, hat in China der Schutz der gesamten Gesellschaft Vorrang. Priorität hat eine Null-Covid-Strategie. Infektionscluster werden gezielt verfolgt und mit einer schnellen und unbürokratischen Teststrategie wird sichergestellt, dass potenzielle Infektionen umgehend erkannt werden. Anstatt sich aber an Strategien in China zu orientieren, wird dem Land vorgeworfen, nicht rechtzeitig vor der sich anbahnenden Pandemie zu warnen. Dabei wird vergessen, dass die von China Ende Januar/Anfang Februar 2020 ergriffenen und zum Teil sehr drastischen Maßnahmen, wozu auch der komplette Lockdown von Wuhan und anderen Städte gehörte, in den westlichen Ländern als übertrieben belächelt wurden. Spätestens zu diesem Zeitpunkt hätte Deutschland mit gezielten Kontrollen an den Grenzen reagieren müssen.
