Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Zukunft hat viele Namen: Für Schwache ist sie das Unerreichbare, für die Furchtsamen das Unbekannte, für die Mutigen die Chance (Hugo 2013). In diesem Sinne sind die Beurteilung und das Antreiben der Innovationskraft von entscheidender Bedeutung für die langfristige Lebensfähigkeit eines Unternehmens. In Zeiten digitaler Transformation, in der sich branchenfremde Unternehmen innovationsstrategische Lücken zunutze machen, um ganze Branchenlogiken zu brechen, reicht die evolutionäre Weiterentwicklung bestehender Produkte und Dienstleistungen nicht mehr aus. Unternehmen stehen vor der Herausforderung, auch Innovationsvorhaben mit gewissen Risiken vorzunehmen und auch das eine oder andere Projekte mit revolutionärem Charakter auf die Agenda zu nehmen. Die Innovationsrisikomatrix hilft dabei, diese Risiken transparent zu machen. Mit ihrer Hilfe kann eine strukturierte Bestandsaufnahme vorgenommen und die Balance zwischen Investitionsrisiko und Wachstumslücken hergestellt werden. Anhand eines Beispiels wird dargestellt, welche Rolle das Kundenproblem beim Innovationsrisiko spielt und wie Marktrisiken sowie das Technologie-, Produkt- und Dienstleistungsrisiko eines Innovationsvorhabens ermittelt werden. Diesem Kapitel ist online ein Softwaretool beigefügt, mit dem Sie Ihre eigene Innovationsrisikomatrix erstellen können.
