Abstract

Zusammenfassung Eines der interessantesten und beachtenswertesten Themen, die im Ökosystem der Blockchain auftauchen, ist der Smart Contract. Ein Smart Contract ist ein Computerprogramm, dessen Code in einer dezentralisierten Blockchain-Struktur gespeichert ist und das digitale Vermögenswerte direkt steuert, ohne auf einen Dritten als Vermittler angewiesen zu sein (siehe Abb. 4.1). Das Programm stellt selbstständig fest, ob die Vertragsbedingungen erfüllt wurden (z. B. durch den Abruf externer Daten wie Wetterinformationen als Informationsbasis für Flugversicherungverträge oder Zinssätze für Finanzinstrumente unter Verwendung vordefinierter Programmierschnittstellen (APIs) als Quelle) und führt den Vertrag (z. B. einen Werttransfer) entsprechend aus. Smart Contracts können rechtliche Prozesse, die derzeit extrem papierlastig, langwierig und teuer sind, vereinfachen oder sogar vollständig automatisieren.
