Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nicht wenige Gesellschaftsanalytiker und Soziologen sprechen von der „Rückkehr der Religiosität“. Das ist eine streitbare These. Unbestritten ist die Tatsache, dass in allen Gesellschaften ethisches Handeln auch in religiös motivierten Haltungen zu finden ist. Wie aber kann ein Ethos Geltung erlangen, der zur friedlichen und gerechten Entwicklung der Menschheit beiträgt? In diesem Beitrag soll darüber nachgedacht werden, welche Merkmale ein allgemeiner „Weltethos“ haben müsste, um in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und der Humanitären Hilfe eine konstruktive Ressource für die tägliche Arbeit der Nichtregierungsorganisationen in vulnerablen Kontexten zugänglich zu machen.
