Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mit dem Inkrafttreten des AI Acts am 1. August 2024 möchte die Europäische Union einen bedeutenden Meilenstein in der Regulierung von Künstlicher Intelligenz setzen. Die Verordnung zielt darauf ab, ein möglichst ausgewogenes Verhältnis zwischen der Förderung von Innovation und dem Schutz der Grundrechte zu schaffen. Dazu sollen klare Regeln für die Entwicklung, Implementierung und Nutzung von KI-Systemen in Europa festgelegt werden. Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über die Entstehungsgeschichte des AI Acts (dt. KI Verordnung), seine zentralen Bestimmungen und die Auswirkungen auf Unternehmen, Entwickler und die Gesellschaft insgesamt. Dabei wird auch auf die Rolle von General Purpose AI (GPAI), die Risikoklassen, die Anforderungen für High-Impact-Modelle sowie die Sanktionen und die Chancen und Risiken für Unternehmen und die Gesellschaft eingegangen.
