Abstract

Zusammenfassung Medizinische Behandlung ist eine bisweilen gefährliche Tätigkeit, nicht nur für die Personen, die sich der Behandlung unterziehen, sondern auch für jene, die in Ausübung diverser Berufe aktiv beteiligt sind. Man sollte meinen, dass der Gesetzgeber – wie in anderen Bereichen auch – längst entsprechende Sicherheitsnormen zur Vermeidung von unerwünschten Ereignissen erlassen hat. Wie sehr man mit geeigneten Maßnahmen die Zahl der Zwischenfälle und Schäden nachhaltig deutlich reduzieren kann, zeigt ein seit 25 Jahren im Wiener Allgemeinen Krankenhaus etabliertes Maßnahmenpaket, das mit vertretbarem Aufwand auch in anderen Gesundheitseinrichtungen eingeführt werden könnte.
