Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der deutsche Fachgroßhandel spielt als Wertschöpfungspartner zwischen Produzenten und B2B Endkunden eine zentrale Rolle in der Wirtschaft. Er ist durch mittelständische Unternehmen geprägt, die neben Produkten auch spezialisierte Dienstleistungen und tiefes Produktwissen anbieten. Diese Firmen sind oft regional verwurzelt und pflegen enge Kundenbeziehungen. Der Prozess der digitalen Transformation stellt für sie eine Herausforderung dar, die alle Unternehmensbereiche betrifft, bietet aber auch weitreichende Potenziale zur Weiterentwicklung und Stärkung der eigenen Marktposition (Einkaufsbüro Deutscher Eisenhändler 2023a).
