Abstract

Zusammenfassung Seit langer Zeit spielen epistemologische Fragen in der Wissenschaftsdisziplin Wirtschaftsinformatik eine wichtige Rolle. In welcher Form in der Wirtschaftsinformatik wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse erzielt werden können, wird dabei aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven diskutiert, insbesondere aus gestaltungsorientierter Sicht und aus Sicht der empirischen Forschung. Die Behandlung von erkenntnistheoretischen Fragen ist nicht zuletzt deshalb wichtig, weil dadurch ein besseres Verständnis für den Erwerb von Wissen sowie die Gültigkeit von Erkenntnissen geschaffen wird.
