Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Bedeutung von Emotionen für Verhalten und Erleben wird häufig unterschätzt. Begreift man Emotionen gar als Gegenspielerinnen zum Rationalen, wird man ihrer Funktion nicht gerecht. Es ist deshalb dringend notwendig, sich detailliert mit Emotionen zu beschäftigen. Ein Großteil der Selbstregulation hat mit der Regulation emotionaler Impulse zu tun. Das Kapitel klärt über die zentrale Bedeutung von Emotionen für die anderen 4 Regelsysteme (unbewusstes und bewusstes Denken, Motivation und Wahrnehmung) auf und stellt Tools zur Verfügung, mit denen das eigene und fremde emotionale Erleben differenziert betrachtet, sprachlich ausgedrückt, interpretiert und gesteuert werden kann. Hilfen zur Emotionsregulation werden gegeben.
