Abstract

Zusammenfassung Schon lange bevor der Begriff Wirtschaft eingeführt wurde, haben Menschen andere manipuliert, um sich einen Vorteil zu verschaffen. Bereits im alten Ägypten gehörten illegale Absprachen und Bestechungshandlungen zum Alltag. Sie wurden eingesetzt, um die beste Ware zu erhalten und das Überleben zu sichern (El-Saady 1998, S. 295 ff.). Viele der Handlungen, die in der damaligen Zeit gesellschaftlich akzeptiert waren, entsprechen heute nicht mehr den Gepflogenheiten. So war es in der Schweiz einst möglich, bezahlte Bestechungsgelder von den Steuern abzuziehen (Roelli 2017, S. 151). Heute wäre so etwas nicht mehr denkbar. Auch die Verbote wettbewerbswidriger Geschäftsaktivitäten, insbesondere von Kartellen (Sherman Antitrust Act von 1890), sowie der Abfalldeponierung in den Ozeanen (Ocean Dumping Act von 1972) wurde erst im Laufe der Zeit erlassen. Und bereits damals stand die Gesellschaft vor denselben Herausforderungen, wie wir diese auch heute kennen. Es finden sich immer Länder, die abweichende Meinungen und Ansichten haben und bei uns unter Strafe gestellte Handlungen als legal betrachten (Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft 2016, Abs. 1 ff.).
