Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Argumentation der privaten Geschäftsbanken verläuft immer entlang derselben Argumentationslinie: Sparkassen und Genossenschaftsbanken seien aufgrund ihrer bloßen Existenz und ihrer Marktstellung die Ursache dafür, dass das deutsche Bankensystem im internationalen Vergleich ineffizient sei. Effizienzstudien belegen dies regelmäßig nicht. Vielmehr sehen sich Sparkassen und Genossenschaftsbanken dramatischen Herausforderungen gegenüber, seien es Digitalisierung, Regulierung oder Fachkräftemangel. Die Antwort suchen beide Gruppen in der Virtualisierung ihrer bestehenden Netzwerke zu digitalen regionalen Ökosystemen.
