Abstract

Zusammenfassung In einem Kontext, in dem die beruflichen Laufbahnen mittlerweile von zahlreichen Übergängen geprägt sind, untersucht dieser Beitrag die Verbindungen zwischen beruflichen Übergängen und der Sinnsuche des Einzelnen. Nachdem wir gezeigt haben, dass sich der Sinn im Verlauf eines Übergangs verändert, versuchen wir, die beiden folgenden Aspekte besser zu verstehen: Wie kann ein Übergang dazu beitragen, die Suche nach Sinn zu erfüllen? Und umgekehrt: Inwiefern kann ein Übergang mehr oder weniger sinnstiftend sein und die Erwartungen des Einzelnen erfüllen? Für das Individuum wird der Sinn in der Gegenwart konstruiert, unter Einbeziehung seiner Erfahrungen mit vergangenen Übergängen sowie der Projektion in die Zukunft. In manchen Fällen kann ein beruflicher Übergang die Antwort auf einen Sinnverlust der eigenen Arbeit sein. Insbesondere in Abhängigkeit von den Gewinnen und Verlusten können bestimmte Übergänge eine Sinnsteigerung ermöglichen.
