Abstract

Zusammenfassung Für Unternehmen ist eine wirksame Kommunikation von nachhaltigkeitsbezogenen Unternehmensinformationen gegenüber verschiedenen Stakeholdern von hoher Bedeutung. Der Nutzen einer durch die CSRD und die ESRS standardisierten Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung für deren Nutzer entsteht insbesondere dann, wenn sich Unternehmen auf wichtige, d. h. wesentliche, Themen fokussieren und damit auf verständliche Weise über die Auswirkungen des Unternehmens auf Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte und den Einfluss von Nachhaltigkeitsaspekten auf die Entwicklung, die Lage und die Leistung des Unternehmens berichten. Zur Ermittlung, welche ESG-Faktoren als wichtig anzusehen sind, kann die im Rahmen der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung nach CSRD und ESRS verpflichtende Wesentlichkeitsanalyse herangezogen werden. Durch diese werden der Kontext des Unternehmens, d. h. die Aktivitäten und Geschäftsbeziehungen sowie die betroffenen Stakeholdergruppen, analysiert sowie Auswirkungen, Risiken und Chancen (IROs) von Nachhaltigkeitsaspekten identifiziert und bewertet. Zum Teil ersetzt die standardisierte Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung nach CSRD und ESRS die Leistungen von ESG-Ratingagenturen. Auf der anderen Seite können ESG-Ratings von der verbesserten, verlässlicheren Datenbasis profitieren.
