Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nachhaltigkeit und ESG sind in aller Munde. Der von der EU angestoßene Green Deal geht auch am Mittestand nicht vorbei. Er wird verpflichtet zukünftig über das Erreichen von Nachhaltigkeitszielen zu berichten. ESG steht dabei für Environment (Umwelt) Social (Soziales) und Governance (Unternehmensführung), also jene Felder auf denen von den Unternehmen nachhaltiges Verhalten erwartet wird. Rechenschaft über nachhaltiges Wirtschaften soll durch die gesetzlich geforderte Nachhaltigkeitserklärung bzw. die gesetzlich geforderte Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung gelegt werden. Der Beitrag definiert den Kreis der betroffenen Unternehmen und zeigt die gesetzlich geforderten Inhalte der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung auf. Wie diese zu verpacken sind, ergibt sich aus den EU-weit vorgegebenen ESRS, aus denen sich letztendlich auch eine grobe Gliederung für den Nachhaltigkeitsbericht ableiten lässt. Es wird schnell deutlich, dass der Weg zum ersten Nachhaltigkeitsbericht hohe Ressourcenanforderungen an die Unternehmen stellt. Das Jahr 2025 wird für viele Unternehmen das erste Berichtsjahr sein, sodass die Umsetzung nicht mehr länger auf die lange Bank geschoben werden kann.
