Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Buchbeitrag „ESG-Kriterien als strategischer Kompass für M&A – eine Einführung“ behandelt die zunehmende Bedeutung von ESG-Kriterien in Unternehmensstrategien und Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Angesichts veränderter Umweltbedingungen und gesellschaftlicher Entwicklungen müssen Unternehmen ESG-Aspekte in ihre Entscheidungen einbeziehen. Internationale Abkommen wie die 2030 Agenda und das Pariser Klimaabkommen sowie EU-Initiativen bieten rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen. Der Beitrag erläutert Berichts- und Offenlegungspflichten sowie die Auswirkungen der Lieferkettengesetzgebung und die Anforderungen der Finanzmärkte. Stakeholder, darunter Mitarbeitende und Kunden, fordern nachhaltige Geschäftsmodelle. ESG-Kriterien sind für die Unternehmensstrategie und M&A-Transaktionen essenziell. Unternehmen nutzen M&A, um ihre Nachhaltigkeitsratings zu verbessern und sich an Marktveränderungen anzupassen. ESG-Kriterien sind somit entscheidend für die Zukunftsfähigkeit von Unternehmen.
