Abstract

Zusammenfassung In einer Zeit, in der Umweltbewusstsein und Nachhaltigkeit einen immer größeren Stellenwert in der Gesellschaft einnehmen, rückt das Thema auch in Unternehmen verstärkt in den Fokus. Es geht nicht mehr nur darum, Gewinne zu erzielen, sondern auch darum, wie diese Gewinne erzielt werden. Unternehmen spielen eine entscheidende Rolle in der Gestaltung einer nachhaltigeren Zukunft. Ihre Verantwortung für die Umwelt wird zunehmend als integraler Bestandteil ihrer Unternehmenskultur und ihrer Strategie anerkannt. Der Ansatz, Gewinnmaximierung mit einem verantwortungsbewussten Umgang mit Ressourcen zu vereinen, prägt die neue Ära des unternehmerischen Denkens und Handelns. In diesem Kapitel werden zuerst wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit und anschließend Strategien zur Umsetzung im Kontext der ethischen Verantwortung, aber auch der wirtschaftlichen Sinnhaftigkeit gezeigt. Abgerundet wird das Kapitel mit einer Fallstudie sowie durch Marketingstrategien.
