EÖBWe – Kontinent: Europa

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Entwicklung des europäischen EÖBWs hat eine lange Geschichte, die gegen Ende des Mittelalters begann. Damals stellte der Erdölausbiss an der Tagesoberfläche das Initial dar, wo sich Erdöl in Tümpeln ansammeln konnte. Erste Erdölgräben wurden noch mit Schöpfkelle oder Eimer entleert, wobei das Erdöl stetig über viele Jahre nachfloss. Später zeigte sich nach 1850 eine rasante Entwicklung der EÖBWe, insbesondere in den heutigen Staatsgrenzen der Länder Frankreich, Deutschland, Polen, Ukraine, Rumänien und Russland. Insgesamt werden für Europa 96 EÖBWe benannt und beschrieben; folglich weist dieser Kontinent die stärkste Verbreitung auf. Dabei zeigt sich, dass sich das EÖBW insbesondere in Zeiten der industriellen Revolution (ca. 1850 bis 1900) und in anschließenden Notzeiten des 20. Jahrhunderts (z.B. Kriegsjahre, Ölpreiskrisen) vom einfachen Handschacht bis zum professionellen Grubenbetrieb entwickeln konnte, wobei auch zwei bekannte Großbetriebe entstanden; die EÖBWe Pechelbronn/ Frankreich und Wietze/ Deutschland. Aber auch das EÖBW Boryslaw/ Ukraine hatte beachtliche Ausmaße mit über 10.000 Handschächten. Das letzte moderne EÖBW Yarega/ Russland wurde vermutlich um 2018 geschlossen.
