Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zahlreiche Studien belegen den Nutzen von Ökonomischer Bildung in der Schule. Grundlegendes Wissen über finanzielle und wirtschaftliche Zusammenhänge eröffnet insbesondere benachteiligten Kindern und Jugendlichen die Chance zum sozialen Aufstieg. Generell stärkt Ökonomische Bildung die Mündigkeit und Handlungsfähigkeit der Bürgerinnen und Bürger und damit auch die Demokratie sowie die Stabilität der Gesellschaft. Die komplexen und föderal geprägten Strukturen des deutschen Bildungssektors, Dilemmata für Kultusministerinnen und -minister und Berührungsängste von politischen Entscheidungsträgerinnen und -trägern verhindern jedoch bislang, dass ökonomische Bildungsinhalte verpflichtend und in hinreichendem Umfang für alle in den Lehrplänen verankert werden. Stiftungen übernehmen die Rolle eines Change Enablers, indem sie die Forschung zum Thema Ökonomische Bildung vorantreiben, deren Ergebnisse im Schulterschluss mit Verbänden und Interessenvertretungen in die öffentliche und politische Diskussion tragen und Plattformen für einen übergreifenden Austausch ins Leben rufen.
