Abstract

Hidden champions are a specific type of company that establish leading market positions through customer-focused innovations based on leading technologies. As part of an internalization process, hidden champions continuously internationalize their business on the basis of a global management approach, with the central value activities such as research and development and customer relationship management being realized by the company itself. How can this internationalization process be shaped, which strategic priorities must be set and changed again at what point in time, and how can any obstacles to growth be removed? The students will discuss internationalization theories and the ability for stringent growth as a meta-capability for the success of hidden champions.
