Abstract

Zusammenfassung In Kap. 3 stehen so genannte klassische theoretische Ansätze im Fokus, die den europäischen Integrationsprozess seit den Anfängen in den 1960er-Jahren begleiten. Mehrere Arbeiten beschäftigen sich auf Basis der so genannten Grand Theories, des klassischen Neofunktionalismus und des (Liberalen) Intergouvernementalismus, mit der Untersuchung von EU-Krisen und Desintegration. Mit dem Postfunktionalismus ist eine weitere einflussreiche Denkschule entstanden, die insbesondere negative und euroskeptische Reaktionen auf die europäische Integrationsentwicklung und deren Rückwirkungen auf die Ebene der EU in den Blick nimmt.
