Abstract

To achieve sustainability in a company, the entire value chain must be aligned with the circular economy. This can be facilitated by anchoring it in a system of value chains. For sustainable companies, a multitude of action options are available. This starts with the sustainable design of the offerings and extends through supplier management, production processes, to the design of logistics and distribution. Where emissions cannot be avoided, compensation solutions are available. In addition, the company’s own business model can be rounded off with sustainability solutions—or entirely new business models focused on sustainability can be developed. Concurrently, involvement in relevant organizations can complement sustainable corporate management.
