Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Leichtathletik gehört seit jeher zu den beliebtesten Sportarten weltweit. Während sich die Disziplinen kaum verändert haben, sind die Ansprüche der Athleten gewachsen, und die Komplexität und die Menge der Aufgaben in den Vereinen haben zugenommen. Dies zwingt viele Vereine dazu, sich zu professionalisieren. Der Weg zur Professionalisierung bedingt für die Vereine den Aufbau von zusätzlichen Ressourcen sowie die Anpassung von den Vereinskulturen und -strukturen. Im Rahmen dieses Beitrags wurde auf Basis herkömmlicher Unternehmensentwicklungsmodelle ein spezifisches Entwicklungsmodell für Leichtathletikvereine konzipiert und mittels Expert*innenbefragungen und einer Fallstudie empirisch fundiert. Es kann von Vereinen auf dem Weg vom Amateurverein zu einem teil- oder vollprofessionalisierten Verein als theorie- und erfahrungsbasierte Orientierungshilfe herangezogen werden.
