Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Kapitel definiert zunächst das hier verwendete Verständnis von RPA. Dafür erfolgt eine Abgrenzung zu anderen Automatisierungslösungen und weiteren Technologien, die im Zusammenhang mit RPA regelmäßig referenziert werden. Im Anschluss wird eine Einführung in die eigentliche RPA-Technologie vorgenommen. Im Fokus steht hier weniger ein detaillierter IT-technologischer Hintergrund, sondern vielmehr ein grundsätzliches Technologie-Verständnis für alle relevanten Zielgruppen. Hierauf folgend werden die Nutzenpotenziale und Vorteile, aber auch die Nachteile von RPA ausführlich diskutiert, bevor abschließend eine Einordnung von RPA in den Kontext des Prozessmanagements erfolgt.
