Abstract

Zusammenfassung Was verbirgt sich hinter dem Begriff des Digitale Mindset? In diesem Beitrag soll ein diskursanalytischer und ethnographischer Blick auf kulturelle Zusammenhänge und digitale Alltagsrealität ein wenig Klarheit verschaffen. Denn wer verstünde das Digitale Mindset besser als diejenigen, die täglich an der technologischen Basis der Digitalisierung arbeiten? Die Ergebnisse der geführten Experteninterviews mit den Digitalbaumeister*innen auf GitHub, der bedeutsamsten Open Source (OS) Plattform, lassen sich in den größeren kulturellen Kontext der „Californian Ideology“ setzen. Auf diese Weise kontextualisiert, stellt das Digitale Mindset weniger eine neue Reaktion auf den Prozess der Digitalisierung dar als vielmehr ein aus einer „Kultur der Digitalität“ (Stalder, Kultur der Digitalität. Suhrkamp, 2021) hervorgegangenes Konstrukt. Durch dieses wird ein tech-affirmatives Anforderungsprofil formuliert, welches tief im Diskurs um Digitalität verankert ist und sich bis zu seinen Anfängen im Silicon Valley nachvollziehen lässt.
