Abstract

Zusammenfassung Obwohl sich die grundsätzlichen Prozesse logistischer Auftragsabwicklung in den letzten Jahrzehnten kaum verändert haben, erfolgt ihre Durchführung heute oft vollautomatisch, ohne manuelle Eingriffe. Die Verarbeitung der Daten, die über den Transport- und Lieferkettenprozess hinweg ermittelt und verarbeitet werden, haben eine enorme Bedeutung für den ökonomischen Erfolg der Logistikindustrie erhalten. Die Digitalisierung ist von einer Nice-to-have-Option zum unabdingbaren Bestandteil logistischer Geschäftsmodelle geworden. Zu den Elementen des logistischen Aufgabenspektrums, die am meisten von der Digitalisierung profitiert haben, gehören Lagerhaltung, Schiffsumschlag, Disposition, Informationsmanagement, Fuhrparkorganisation sowie die allgemeine Ausgestaltung logistischer Geschäftsmodelle. Der weitere Fortschritt bei der Integration digitaler Konzepte und Technologien in der Logistikindustrie wird die Erfüllung der Umwelt- und Klimaziele erleichtern und gleichzeitig den ökonomischen Erfolg durch eine fundamentale Effizienzsteigerung sicherstellen.
