Abstract

Zusammenfassung Erweiterte Realität oder Extended Reality (XR) ermöglicht ein stufenweises vollständiges oder teilweise virtuelles Abbild der Realität, welches der Realität entweder stark ähnelt oder vollständig von dieser abweichen kann. Die Grenzen zwischen der Realität und der virtuellen Welt werden durch neue Hardware und Rechenleistungen sowie leistungsstarke Netze mit hoher Bandbreite zunehmend fließend und eröffnen neue, atemberaubende Eindrücke, welche bis vor kurzem nur in Science-Fiction-Filmen vorstellbar waren. Erweitere Realität ist auch eine Schlüsseltechnologie für das sogenannte Metaverse, die dritte große Generation des Internets, welche auch als Web 3.0 bezeichnet wird.
