Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zu Beginn der COVID-19-Pandemie waren zunächst die Blicke insbesondere auf das italienische Krankenhaus Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo gerichtet. Dies hat sich jedoch mit der weltweiten Ausbreitung der COVID-19-Pandemie sehr schnell geändert. Plötzlich ist auch in Deutschland der Begriff der Triage aus der öffentlichen Diskussion nicht mehr wegzudenken gewesen. Doch wie wäre im Falle von Versorgungsengpässen auf der Grundlage der derzeit herrschenden Rechtslage im deutschen Gesundheitssystem vorgegangen worden? Nach welchen medizinischen Grundlagen wäre im Fall einer derartigen Situation in Deutschland entschieden worden? Welche gesetzlichen Grundlagen wären zu beachten gewesen und auf welche Empfehlungen hätten die behandelnden Ärzte und Ärztinnen zurückgreifen können? Zu diesen aktuell noch nicht abschließend behandelten medizinethischen Fragestellungen höchster Relevanz leistet dieser Aufsatz einen Beitrag.
