Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Automatisierung administrativer Geschäftsprozesse steigert die Effizienz der Leistungserbringung von Unternehmen. Dieser Beitrag stellt die Ergebnisse einer empirischen Studie mit 94 mittelständischen Unternehmen vor, die den Status Quo und die Barrieren der Prozessautomatisierung erhoben hat. Viele der relevanten Technologien zur Prozessautomatisierung wie Robotic Process Automation (RPA) sind niedrigschwellig implementierbar und bieten vielversprechende Optimierungspotenziale. Jedoch sind zahlreiche Technologien bei den Unternehmen gar nicht bekannt oder werden als irrelevant erachtet. Dies spiegelt sich in der vergleichsweise geringen Verbreitung relevanter Automatisierungstechnologien in den befragten Unternehmen wider. Entsprechend analysiert die Studie ebenso die Barrieren und Erfolgsfaktoren der Prozessautomatisierung.
