Abstract

Zusammenfassung Schon aufgrund rechtlicher und sicherheitstechnischer Vorgaben ist Data Governance in den meisten Unternehmen bereits etabliert. Durch die zunehmende Bedeutung von Daten für den Unternehmenserfolg hat das Thema jedoch einen deutlich höheren Stellenwert bekommen und wird zunehmend auch unter strategischen Aspekten betrachtet. Unternehmen stehen vor der Herausforderung, ein umfassendes Konzept für den Umgang mit Daten zu entwickeln um sicherzustellen, dass die Chancen durch besseren und effizienteren Zugriff auf Daten genutzt und die Risiken z. B. durch Cyberattacken begrenzt werden können. Im Rahmen des folgenden Beitrags wird zunächst erläutert, welche Ziele und Aufgaben Data Governance im Unternehmen hat und welche Instrumente, Rollen und Technologien zur Verfügung stehen, um diese zu erreichen. Die Vorgehensweise und wesentlichen Schritte bei der Formulierung und Implementierung eines Data-Governance Programms werden aufgezeigt. Schließlich werden noch die Bedeutung und Implikationen von Data Governance für das Controlling erläutert.
