Abstract

Zusammenfassung Betrug und Diebstahl durch Mitarbeiter sind heikle Themen, die alle Unternehmen treffen können. Selten aber wird darüber berichtet, denn es ist unangenehm, darüber zu sprechen. Die Unternehmen stehen bezüglich Prävention in der Pflicht, denn das Sprichwort „Gelegenheit macht Diebe“ hat in diesem Zusammenhang eine zentrale Bedeutung. Dies gilt genauso auch für Familienunternehmen – insbesondere auch die international tätigen, die in Bezug auf Mitarbeiter, Profit Center und Tochtergesellschaften eine gewisse Größe erreicht haben. Kriminelle Energien und Fraud sind nicht nur auf das ferne Ausland beschränkt. Viele Beispiele zeigen, dass es überall passieren kann- auch in der Finanzabteilung des Hauptsitzes. Nachfolgend skizzieren wir zwei Fälle aus der Erfahrung eines langjährigen CFO eines international tätigen Unternehmens mit zahlreichen ausländischen Tochtergesellschaften und geben Empfehlungen für die Prävention, Prozesse und Kontrollmaßnahmen.
