Abstract

Zusammenfassung Vorliegende Studien zeigen, dass jeder fünfte Arbeitnehmer seinen Arbeitsplatz als sehr belastend empfindet und jede zehnte aufgrund einer Depression krankgeschrieben wird. Weltweit leiden etwa 280 Millionen Menschen an Depressionen. Bei jedem fünften Beschäftigten in Deutschland wurde schon einmal eine Depression diagnostiziert. Laut dem WHO-Regionalbüro für Europa führt die Volkskrankheit zu Kosten von rund 170 Mrd. € pro Jahr allein in Europa.
