Abstract

Zusammenfassung Kulturelle Unterschiede prägen den Umgang mit Trinkgeld. Wenn Menschen reisen, lernen sie die Sitten des Gastlandes kennen und sollten diese respektieren. Durch den internationalen Tourismus haben sich Trinkgeld-Gepflogenheiten in vielen Ländern der Welt angepasst. Für Gäste und Mitarbeiter:innen ist es ratsam, sich über die jeweiligen Gewohnheiten zu informieren. In vielen Kulturen ist die Anerkennung in Form von Geld – sowohl in bar als auch mit Karte – noch immer üblich, andererseits wird mancherorts die Verteilung beziehungsweise Annahme von Trinkgeld nicht als Wertschätzung, sondern als Beleidigung verstanden. Wenn man mit internationalen Gästen und Mitarbeiter:innen zu tun hat, gilt es diese kulturellen Unterschiede zu berücksichtigen. In unserem Kulturkreis sind Trinkgelder für Dienstleistungen immer noch üblich. Sowohl Gäste als auch Mitarbeiter:innen legen Wert auf eine gerechte Verteilung.
