Abstract

Zusammenfassung Fehlerquellen zu erkennen bedeutet, Fehler zu vermeiden. Patientensicherheit hat zum Ziel, den Patienten vor Schäden und Fehlern zu bewahren; sie wird definiert als „Abwesenheit unerwünschter Ereignisse“. Ziel des Patientenrechtegesetzes, welches am 26.02.2013 in Kraft trat und Einzug in das Bürgerliche Gesetzbuch (BGB) fand, ist es, die Rechte der Patienten zu stärken und die bereits durch die Rechtsprechung des Bundesgerichtshofes gelebte Rechtswirklichkeit zu kodifizieren. Dieser Beitrag soll dem Patienten eine Hilfestellung dabei geben, durch die Vermittlung von arzthaftungsrechtlichen Grundlagen und Tipps aus der Passivität in eine aktive Mitgestaltung der eigenen Behandlung zu wechseln. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass ein vorinformierter, kritisch fragender und aufmerksamer Patient eher davor gefeit ist, vom Patienten zum Geschädigten zu werden.
